Greece bans social media for children under 15 starting January 1, 2027

Greece's parliament passed a law barring children under 15 from using social media, including Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, with restrictions taking effect January 1, 2027. Platforms must verify ages via the government's Kids Wallet app, which shares only whether a user is over or under 15. Parents cannot grant permission and existing accounts are not exempt.
