Malaysia exempts Google Maps from civil servant ban, keeps Waze restriction

Malaysia's National Security Council (MKN) said Google Maps is exempt from the ban on civil servants using Waze because its data controller is based in the US. Waze's terms place disputes under Israeli law and Tel Aviv courts. Waze called claims that it compromises personal data "completely false."
