ByteDance's PineDrama targets overseas growth with free short-drama model

ByteDance is expanding its short-drama platform PineDrama overseas; the app is run by a team inside TikTok's business division rather than the Hongguo Short Drama team. Its free, ad-supported model and TikTok traffic have pushed it into the top 10 free iPhone apps in the US, Brazil and Thailand.
