Alice & Bob demonstrates first non-Clifford gate on cat qubits
Alice & Bob became the first to demonstrate a non-Clifford gate on superconducting cat-qubit hardware as part of Phase 1 of France's €500 million PROQCIMA quantum program. The company also ran multiple cycles of a three-qubit repetition code and measured the logical error rate across its 12-qubit register, which remains above the fault-tolerance threshold.
- First on-chip non-Clifford gate demonstrated on cat qubits
- Logical error rate on the 12-qubit register is still above threshold
- Noise-biased CNOTs, syndrome readout and reset shown on hardware
- PROQCIMA program is valued at €500 million (~$561 million)
