Anthropic opens Claude Duet research preview to US Pro and Max users

Anthropic launched a research preview of Claude Duet, a proactive agent built on Claude Opus 5.5 that runs on its own virtual machine and completes tasks while users are away. Access is via waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers in the US, with apps on iOS, Android and claude.ai.

• The agent runs on a virtual machine with its own browser, so the user's device can stay off
• Claude Duet asks for approval before sending messages, making payments or deleting data
• It supports over 6,000 connectors from the Claude Marketplace, including Gmail, Slack, Stripe and Shopify
• Trading securities and moving money between accounts are blocked even with approval
