Saft opens solid-state battery lines for electric aircraft
French battery maker Saft, a TotalEnergies subsidiary, has inaugurated solid-state battery production lines in Bordeaux for electric aircraft and space applications. The company claims up to 50% higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion cells and a 40% cut in CO2 emissions at the electrode stage via a dry electrode process.
