iOS 14 boots in AQEMU on Windows 11 on Arm via Inferno emulator
The maintainer of AQEMU reports that iOS 14 now boots in the Qt front-end for QEMU on Windows 11 on Arm, reaching the home screen with working touch input. Emulation is handled by ChefKiss's Inferno, a QEMU fork without hardware acceleration, so the guest runs on TCG.
- iOS 14 in AQEMU gets past the lock screen to the full home screen
- Inferno lacks WHPX support, so the guest runs on software TCG
- AQEMU 1.6.0 added ARM64 WHPX, file copy and crash reporting
- Users must supply their own legally obtained Apple firmware and files
