Apex Recordhunter electric drone hits 777 km/h

Quantum Systems says its experimental Apex Recordhunter electric drone reached 419.5 knots (482.8 mph, 777 km/h). The record is unofficial: FAI rules require two flights in opposite directions, but only a single leg was flown. The test supported development of high-speed interceptor drones.

• Top speed of 419.5 knots, or 482.8 mph (777 km/h)
• Record unconfirmed: FAI requires two runs in opposite directions
• Faster than jet-powered Shahed drones, which cruise near 270 knots
• Flight gathered aerothermal and electrical data for interceptors
