Cloudflare leads Rust port of TypeScript written by AI agents

Cloudflare is taking ownership of tsrs, a Rust port of the TypeScript compiler that it says is up to 8x faster and uses 70% less memory than TypeScript 7.0. The port was built entirely by AI agents using Claude Opus 5.5, and optimizations are being shared with Microsoft's TypeScript team, whose 7.1 beta is already about 2.5x faster.
