OpenAI to shut down 17 API models on October 23

OpenAI will retire 17 model IDs on Friday, October 23, including gpt-4, gpt-4-turbo, o1, o3-mini, o4-mini and gpt-image-1, plus six fine-tuned variants. Requests to retired IDs may fail, so developers should audit code, configs and automations and migrate to gpt-5.6-sol, terra or luna.
