Perplexity and Valarian bring Perplexity Computer to institutional servers
Perplexity partnered with UK-based Valarian on October 20, 2026, to run Perplexity Computer inside institutions' own infrastructure, including air-gapped networks. Valarian's ACRA platform enforces access and network policies while Computer plans tasks and runs multi-step workflows. The offering targets finance, government and defense, with deployments available from October 20, 2026.
- Computer plans tasks, coordinates models and tools, and runs multi-step workflows
- Institutions can run open-weight models like Nemotron, GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek-R1 and Qwen locally
- Air-gapped deployments operate without external model APIs or the public web
- Uptime Institute's 2025 survey puts 45% of IT workloads in corporate data centers
