ESA shares Sentinel-3B thermal image of Europe's record heat waves
The Sentinel-3B satellite captured land and sea surface temperatures during record-breaking heat waves across Southern Europe this summer. Land temperatures exceeded 40 C in parts of Spain and North Africa, and the Mediterranean also warmed sharply. ESA Earth observation head Simonetta Cheli presented the image.
- Land temperatures in Spain and North Africa topped 40 C in places
