CodeQL can't trace Xcode 27 builds or scan Swift 6.4

GitHub said on October 19, 2026 that CodeQL cannot trace builds made with Xcode 27 and cannot analyze Swift 6.4 code on any platform. Apple removed x86_64 code from macOS 27 system files that the scanner relies on. CodeQL support for Intel Macs ends in mid-December 2026.

• Traced extraction is unavailable for C/C++, C#, Go, Java, Kotlin and Swift on Xcode 27
• Swift 6.4 is unsupported on all platforms with no announced fix date
• CodeQL support for Intel-based Macs is deprecated in mid-December 2026
• Workarounds include build mode none for C/C++, C# and Java or staying on Xcode 26
