PEGI re-rates existing digital games with loot boxes to 16
The UK's GRA has begun re-rating existing digital-only games with paid random items, moving titles rated PEGI 3, 7 or 12 up to PEGI 16 with a 'Paid random items' label. The change applies to games rated under both PEGI's Classic procedure and the IARC system and will roll out through October.
- New PEGI 16 - Paid random items rating targets loot boxes
- Re-rating affects games currently rated PEGI 3, 7 and 12
- Changes cover titles rated via both PEGI Classic and IARC
- ESRB declined to adopt similar age-rating changes in March
