tvOS 27.2 RC adds four-HomePod surround sound

Apple's iOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and HomePod Software 27.2 RC builds add four-speaker surround sound on the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. Users can pair four HomePod mini 2 speakers, four second-generation HomePods, or two matching pairs of mixed models. HomePod mini 2 launches October 30 and the new Apple TV 4K on November 13.

• Original HomePod and HomePod mini cannot be used for surround sound
• Speakers detect their room position to calibrate timing and levels
