Microsoft launches Copilot for Legal with 20+ legal skills

In October 2026 Microsoft launched Copilot for Legal, a set of specialised AI capabilities for lawyers built on Microsoft 365 Copilot. It includes more than 20 legal skills and two plugins for Word and Cowork, powered by the Work IQ layer over Microsoft Graph data.

• Over 20 skills cover drafting, contract review and obligation tracking
• Plugins are embedded in Word and the agentic Cowork workspace
• Edits appear as native Word tracked changes
• Processing stays within the Microsoft 365 service boundary
