Digits launches Write MCP: AI agents write to the general ledger, locked periods queue for review
Digits launched its free Write MCP server on October 13, 2026, letting customers' AI agents create, update and delete general ledger records under the signed-in user's permissions. Locked periods cannot be changed silently: every proposed edit goes to a review queue for admin approval. A ScriptMasterLabs test counted 13 write operations across 4 areas and 0 silent writes in a locked period.
- 13 write operations: 4 transactions, 3 bills, 3 invoices, 3 chart-of-accounts
- Locked-period edits queue for human review; silent writes: 0
- Gate test: open-period read and write scored 0.9545, locked edit 0.50
- In score form the gate fails closed, escalating both read and edit at 0.35
