ISM 2.0 will shift from building fabs to building the ecosystem: MeitY Secretary Krishnan

MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan said at SEMICON India 2026 that five of 12 approved ISM 1.0 projects are in serial production, with chips being made at six locations in India. ISM 2.0 will focus on six areas: design, materials, chemicals and gases, equipment, fabs, and advanced packaging.
