Go 1.27 detects leaked goroutines via the garbage collector

Go 1.27 makes the goroutineleak profile generally available: the garbage collector flags goroutines blocked on channels, mutexes, WaitGroup and Cond that nothing can ever wake. Leaks on file or network IO, raw syscalls and custom primitives are never reported.

The goroutineleak profile graduated from experiment in Go 1.27, released 19 August 2026
It covers channel sends and receives, select, Mutex, RWMutex, WaitGroup and Cond
Leaks on file/network IO and raw syscalls are never detected
The profile reports leaks but does not reclaim their memory
