ScaleFlux pitches FC6116 and MC600 controllers plus partner-built SSDs
At the 70th IT Press Tour, ScaleFlux outlined its plan to supply controller silicon for AI data pipelines, including the FC6116 PCIe Gen6 SSD controller and MC600 CXL 3.2 memory controller shown at FMS in August. The company is handing SSD assembly to partners under its ScaleFlux Driven program while keeping chips, firmware and reference designs in-house.
- FC6116 is a PCIe Gen6 SSD controller; MC600 is a CXL 3.2 memory controller
- ScaleFlux estimates 2027 demand at 500–600EB of NAND across 55–60 million SSDs
- HBM is under 1% of memory demand by capacity, DDR5 about 5%
- Partners get turnkey firmware, any NAND or DRAM vendor and any contract manufacturer
