iOS 27 brings iPhone Handoff: one number across two iPhones
Apple introduced iPhone Handoff, an eSIM feature in iOS 27 that lets one phone number work across two iPhones and automatically switches cellular service when the other device is unlocked. Both phones must run iOS 27, share one Apple Account and use an eSIM from a supported carrier, currently T-Mobile in the US and Telekom in Germany.
- One number works on two iPhones, with only one active at a time
- Requires iOS 27, a shared Apple Account and a supported carrier eSIM
- Carrier support limited to T-Mobile in the US and Telekom in Germany
- T-Mobile charges $5 per month for iPhone Handoff
