Bruce Power rebuilds Unit 4 reactor core 25 days ahead of schedule
Engineers at Ontario's Bruce Power nuclear station completed a key stage of rebuilding the Unit 4 reactor core, fitting all 480 calandria tubes 25 days faster than the previous unit. A six-axis robotic system sealed the joints without manual work in radiation zones. Siemens Energy Canada will supply new steam turbines for all four Bruce A reactors, adding nearly 125 MW of clean power to the provincial grid.
