Next.js 16.3 benchmarked: warm builds 15x faster, dev memory unchanged
Developers tested Next.js 16.3.4 on two production apps: a static marketing site and a Medusa SSR storefront. Warm builds sped up 13.8–15.3x thanks to the Turbopack FileSystem cache, throughput rose 7–52%, while the claimed dev memory reduction could not be measured.
- Warm build: 2.9 s on 16.1.6 vs 0.19 s on 16.3.4 (15.3x)
- Cold build unchanged: 6.68 s vs 6.58 s
- Throughput under load: +7% static, +52% SSR
- Dev server memory reduction could not be measured
