Starlink urges satellite operators to share data via Stargaze platform
Starlink has called on all satellite operators to share tracking data through its Stargaze (Space-Safety.com) platform. Participants receive conjunction warnings, but full database access stays with SpaceX. In six months Starlink logged about 164,000 near-miss events.
- Stargaze pulls data from 31,000 star trackers across a fleet of 11,000+ satellites
- About 164,000 conjunctions in six months; only half of 650 third-party satellites shared ephemeris
- Participants get only conjunction data messages, not full database access
- Starlink-32710 passed within 57 m, Starlink-2140 within 134 m without operator data
