Qualcomm CEO: AI firms want 100-billion-parameter models running on phones by 2028

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon said AI companies are asking the chipmaker to enable 100-billion-parameter models to run on smartphones by 2028. He added that memory prices have risen five to six times, pushing the smartphone market down 20% this year, and that Qualcomm will demo 6G at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
