Apple to Let EU Apps Use Less Alarming Tracking Consent Screens

Apple agreed to change App Tracking Transparency screen requirements for EU apps after a multi-year antitrust probe by German and other regulators. Developers in Germany, France, Italy, Poland and Romania will be able to show an alternative consent screen with revised wording and design.

• The screen becomes full-screen instead of a pop-up window
• The word "track" is removed; buttons are "Allow" and "Reject"
• Alternative screen available in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Romania
• Consent can be requested again a year after the user's choice
