Netscout: 9.1M DDoS attacks in six months, 1 Tbps-plus attacks up 1,286%

Netscout recorded more than 9.1 million DDoS attacks globally between January and June 2026, up nearly a quarter year over year. Attacks exceeding 1 Tbps or 1 Gpps jumped 1,286%, driven largely by botnets tied to Aisuru, Kimwolf and Jackskid.

• 9.1M DDoS attacks in H1 2026, up nearly 25% year over year
• Attacks over 1 Tbps or 1 Gpps rose 1,286%
• Direct-path attacks made up 64.4%; carpet-bombing grew from 3.97% to 4.54%
• Providers mitigated 23.12% of attacks, up from 22.35% a year earlier
