UK to ban porn depicting choking and incest from 6 November

The UK government announced that from 6 November it will be illegal to possess or publish pornography showing strangulation, suffocation, incest or adults role-playing as children under 16. Publication carries up to five years in prison, while possession carries up to two to three years.

• Publishing such content carries up to 5 years in prison
• Possession carries up to 2 years, up to 3 for child role-play
• Rules follow a 2025 review of porn regulation
