Amazon devices chief Panos Panay: AI devices will replace apps

Panos Panay, Amazon's SVP of Devices, Alexa & Leo, said at TechCrunch Disrupt that ambient AI devices, not apps, are the future of personal computing. He pointed to Amazon's new Bee wearables, which passively record audio but don't store raw recordings and encrypt transcripts with user-controlled keys.

• Bee lineup includes a wrist/pendant band and a phone-attached card
• Raw audio isn't stored; transcripts encrypted with device keys
• Panay: no single form factor will replace another
