Caves of Qud: Diaspora becomes first Steam Early Access DLC

Freehold Games will release the Diaspora DLC for Caves of Qud in Steam Early Access — the first time an expansion launches in the program after a game's 1.0 release. Valve had to manually enable the option in its backend.

• Caves of Qud left Early Access in 2024 after roughly nine years in the program
• Diaspora DLC returns the game to Early Access, a first for Steam
• Valve manually enabled the option; its review system flagged it as a bug
• Studio cites complex interlocking systems and slow development pace
