KAIST develops hardware encryption tied to reading time
KAIST researchers used changes in electric current inside a semiconductor to build encryption that reveals information only after a set time or at a specific moment. Besides the decryption key, the method adds a second condition: when the data is read.
- The method uses current changes inside a semiconductor as a delay mechanism
- Decryption works only after a set interval or at a specific moment
- A second condition — reading time — is added to the key
- Target use cases include exam questions and bid prices
