Sharp's new washing system reuses 96% of water without plumbing
At CEATEC 2026 in Japan, Sharp demonstrated Triple Free Laundry, a drainless recirculating washing system that filters and reuses wastewater, cutting water consumption by about 96%. The prototype needs no connection to water supply or drainage and uses alkaline ionized water instead of synthetic detergents. Sharp plans to launch it in Japan in fiscal 2026, starting with disaster-relief applications.
