Google Home Gets 14+ Improvements in Fresh Update

Google rolled out a new update for Google Home and Gemini for Home, improving conversation wrap-ups, temperature units, on-screen text scrolling on smart displays, and "stop" commands. The Home app also gets redesigned light, plug, and switch controls, while existing Philips Hue bridges auto-upgrade to local Matter control.

• Gemini for Home now ends chats on polite cues like "thank you" and mutes the mic on a direct stop command
• Weather answers follow the home-wide Fahrenheit or Celsius preference set in the Home app
• The app gets rebuilt controls for lights, plugs, and switches plus a swipe-up quick settings panel
• Existing Philips Hue bridges auto-upgrade to local Matter control via Google Home hubs without re-pairing
