Nigerian President Calls for 95% Digital ID Coverage by Year-End

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu directed NIMC to raise national identification number (NIN) coverage to 95% of the population by the end of 2026. About 142 million people are currently registered, up from 80 million when he took office; the project is funded by the World Bank, EIB and French Development Agency.
