Nvidia unveils cuPotential as chipmakers adopt CUDA-X
Nvidia on October 14, 2026 introduced cuPotential, a CUDA-X library for AI agents that simulate atomic and molecular interactions. Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens, Lam Research, KLA and Applied Materials are adopting the expanded CUDA-X portfolio, with speedups of up to 30–85x in some tasks.
- cuPotential adds a 2–3x speedup on top of GPU-optimized workflows
- Synopsys reports up to 30x with cuEST and 12x with cuDSS
- Lam Research to integrate NanoVDB into SEMulator3D with up to 30x faster etch modeling
- KLA's new NPP NCC kernel runs 50x faster than earlier CPU versions
