AI researcher warns cyberattacks could hit power, banking and water within a year
Elicit CEO Andreas Stuhlmüller says AI-powered cyberattacks on power grids, banks, internet and water supplies are plausible within the next year. The warning follows an attack on hundreds of French supermarkets on October 11–12, where hackers raised refrigerator temperatures to 122°F. He advises preparing for two weeks of disruption with cash, water and backup power.
- Attack hit Carrefour, Intermarché, Monoprix and Coopérative U stores
- Hackers pushed refrigerator temperatures as high as 122°F
