Google silently links your phone number across all signed-in Android accounts

Google now automatically verifies and attaches your phone number to every Google account signed in on an Android device, including work and secondary profiles, without an explicit prompt. Users can disable "Verify phone numbers automatically" in Google settings, but previously linked numbers must be removed manually from each account.

• Google updated its documentation between August and October 2025
• The number is linked to all accounts on the device, including work profiles
• Users receive emails from noreply-phone-verification@google.com
• Turning off the setting does not remove already linked numbers
