Galbot's PASSAGE lets humanoid robots duck and step over obstacles
Galbot introduced PASSAGE, a framework that helps humanoid robots adapt whole-body movements to obstacles by stepping over objects, ducking under barriers and turning sideways through narrow gaps. It runs on an Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin without prebuilt maps; simulated success reached 98.67%, dropping to 70.3% when obstacle contact was disallowed.
- PASSAGE combines perception, motion planning and whole-body control
- Trained on 100 hours of human motion across 1,500 virtual scenes
- 98.67% success in 750 simulations; 70.3% without touching obstacles
- Unitree G1 completed 50 real layouts without falling, 45 contact-free
