Windrose releases open-source CAD files for its electric truck

Windrose founder Wen Han published free CAD models of all 1,023 parts of the base X9D01 model of the E700 Class 8 electric tractor. Owners and independent shops can make their own parts, reducing dependence on the manufacturer.

• Models of 1,023 parts released as PRT files totaling 3.54 GB
• Assembly tree of 97 nodes and 1,920 parent-child links available
• Repair and part-making allowed free, without notification
• Building new vehicles from these drawings requires a separate agreement
