Toyota to launch its first extended-range EV in China in 2027

Toyota will start producing its first extended-range electric vehicle in China in spring 2027, targeting 200,000 units that year and 400,000 in 2028. The EREV, using a gas engine as a generator, is meant to help Toyota compete with low-cost domestic brands like BYD.
