AI will reshape networks as intelligence moves beyond DCs, says Deutsche Telekom
At Deutsche Telekom's AI Investor Day, Telekom Deutschland CEO Rodrigo Diehl said AI will fundamentally change the role of telecom networks as intelligence moves out of data centers and closer to devices. He argued current network performance already limits robot and physical AI deployments, and that 6G will sense and interpret data, not just transport it.
- Diehl: server farms across the ocean won't be fast enough for many AI workloads
- Physical AI outside factories and campus networks demands better latency, jitter and QoS
- 6G will be about sensing and acting on information, not just transport
- Deutsche Telekom already uses AI for fiber rollout and is about to launch Mindr
