Which countries have banned social media for kids?

Bans on social media for minors are becoming a global trend: Australia was first with a ban for children under 16 in December 2025, followed by Austria, Brazil, Canada, Malaysia, Indonesia, and others. The EU proposed the EU KIDS Act on 17 September 2026, and France is preparing to become the first European country with such a ban.
