Feds Obtained Warrants to Use Stingrays to Track Don Lemon's Producer
Judges in Minnesota and Pennsylvania signed warrants in January authorizing cell-site simulators to locate Jerome Richardson, a 21-year-old who helped produce Don Lemon's coverage of an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church. Agents also sought simulator warrants for journalist Georgia Fort and Minnesota Senate candidate Jamael Lundy.
- Warrants signed January 30 in Minnesota and January 31 in Pennsylvania
- Richardson surrendered voluntarily two days after the second warrant
- Prosecutors conceded the 'chanting' claim against Lemon and Fort was false in at least 15 affidavits
- Defense attorneys are challenging 92 DHS customs summonses for journalists' records
