Webb and Hubble capture stellar nurseries, galaxies and gravitational lensing
NASA and ESA released new images from the Webb and Hubble telescopes. Webb imaged the NGC 7129 stellar nursery 3,300 light-years away and the gravitationally lensed cluster MACS J0454.1-0300, while Hubble showed spiral galaxy NGC 4698 with a perpendicular central bulge 55 million light-years away.
- Webb imaged NGC 7129 at 3,300 light-years, revealing hundreds of stars through dust
- Massive star LkHα 234 in NGC 7129 is 5–8 times the Sun's mass
- Hubble showed NGC 4698 at 55 million light-years with a bulge perpendicular to its disk
- Webb captured lensing in MACS J0454.1-0300, light from 800 million years after the Big Bang
