Nippon Columbia malware incident exposes 8.7 million karaoke customer records
Japanese karaoke system maker Daiichi Kosho said a malware infection at contractor Nippon Columbia Group exposed data on 8.63 million customers and 93,000 employees. Daiichi Kosho's own systems were not breached, and no data theft has been confirmed.

- Malware was found on an employee's computer at Nippon Columbia on October 5
- Daiichi Kosho runs 521 karaoke venues, including the Big Echo chain
- Passwords and loyalty points were not compromised
