Google replaces Assistant with Gemini in its car systems

Google is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini across its car systems, including Android Auto and Google Built-in. Gemini can provide traffic updates, suggest EV-friendly routes, and handle emails, messages, music and food orders, while Gemini Live uses the car's front camera. GM plans to add Gemini to its Google Built-in system but is also preparing its own in-car assistant for later in 2026.
