Microsoft: Outdated Windows PCs Will Lose Windows Update Access in 2027

Microsoft warned that Windows devices on unsupported versions, or supported ones missing recent patches, will lose access to Windows Update when certificates expire on May 17 and June 19, 2027. Fully updated systems already have the replacement certificates and need no action.

• Windows Update certificates expire on May 17 and June 19, 2027
• Windows 11 25H2 and later: no action required
• Windows 11 24H2 and Server 2025: September 2025 patch or later
• Windows 10, Server 2016/2019 and LTSC 2019: July 2026 patch or later
