Intel reportedly launching new CPUs on old LGA 1700 socket with DDR4 support
Gigabyte says Intel will release new processors on the LGA 1700 socket, which dates back to 2021. The move is driven by soaring memory prices: a 32GB DDR4 kit costs around $210 versus $480 for DDR5. Intel VP Robert Hallock said Raptor Lake chips will stick around for "years to come."
