India Targets 10 Percent of Global 6G Patents and Standards

At IMC 2026, Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani said India aims to secure at least 10 percent of global 6G patents and standards. About 136 telecom R&D projects worth Rs 500 crore have been funded under TTDF, while 5G now covers every district via nearly 5.6 lakh base stations.
