Google launches Playground to turn prompts into shareable browser games
Google launched Playground, an experimental browser platform that lets US adults create and revise games from text prompts and share them by link. Creation access rolls out by Google AI subscription tier, with weekly token allowances for generation. Creators can publish to the Explore gallery or download a ZIP of the game's web code and assets.
- Game creation is limited to US users aged 18 and older
- Generation uses weekly token allowances, higher for Google One subscribers
- Games can be published to Explore or exported as a ZIP with code and assets
- A joint Unity Spark project enters closed beta later in 2026
